But sadly in African continents the revolutionary changes didn’t take place. So, certain modernization in African agriculture was much needed to make this country self-sufficient in food. To make this project come true, the farmers must be awarded about the advantages of agricultural mechanization. for a country that is full dependent on the agricultural produce, it is necessary for scientific initiatives to be taken for betterment in this case.

Obstacles of modernizing

Some obstacles were encountered while the modernization in African agriculture was in process. These challenges are the fundamental reason which delayed the green revolution in Africa. Some of them are listed below:

  • Irrigation was one of the primary problems of agricultural mechanization faced, while agricultural development was thought of. The infrastructure of irrigated cultivation was not that much updated.
  • Transportation was also a vital issue regarding this matter. Especially in rural area the communication system was not directed with the market. It was a tough task to overcome the problem rapidly.
  • Poor power supply especially, in rural area made the process of development very slow. Many food products need electricity for coking or baking before marketing it.

Considering the importance of agricultural mechanization a lot improvisation has been done to the cultivation infrastructure. To ease the human effort and to produce maximum product with in a very short time period, an ample number of machines are invented. The old technologies are perfectly remodelled keeping the problems of agricultural mechanization in mind. Some of the revolutionary machines are listed below:

  • An inventor comes with the machine which cane extract juice from the sugarcane without any superlative effort. Introduction of this technology offered many jobless youth to start their business.
  • Integration of IC technology is also an innovative step for the modernization in African agriculture. The ‘Information and Communication Technology’ is soon being implemented by the local agriculturalists in the field.
  • Bale maker device is also considered to be a superlative reason behind the modernization of African agriculture. It reduces the consuming time of bale and automatically produces huge amount of bale comparative to the manual process.

Authority must aware the rural residence about the Importance of agricultural mechanization. If every farmer implements mechanization in farming then certainly it will be a huge economic benefit for Africa. To make a self-sufficient Africa the advantages of agricultural mechanization must be considered in account.

Implementations of modern technologies in every aspect are now very crucial for an all-round growth of a country.
