Entrepreneurship in Africa with the prevailing economical issues has been a hard nut to climb. But the zeal to survive has been the driving force even when there is little or no support from financial institution who supposes to be the bed rock to propel the Africa dream, they as individuals will always try to bring out that creativeness in them so as to generate income for their homes.

This saying has gone a long way in showing how African woman can take pride in engaging in business even when it is dominated by men to ensure that she provides food for the home.

A TRICYCLE TRANSPORTATION DRIVER most especially ones MOSTLY known as “keke Nape driver” was considered shameful for women to be involve in these occupation and doing it as a daily source of income. Even in some areas of the country where Society frowned upon women involving in such businesses because, they detract the women who as their key focus should be in the kitchen and home performing domestic work.

A reality case study proves otherwise that this profession should be encourage within the women folks instead of them engaging in unlawful acts of selling their bodies for money. Even though female entrepreneurship and the formation of women business networks is steadily rising, there are a number of challenges and obstacles that female entrepreneurs face. One major challenge that many women entrepreneurs face is the effect that the traditional gender-roles society may still have on women.

 

Entrepreneurship is still considered as a male-dominated field, and it may be difficult to surpassfemale-keke-Nape-driver_somidax-africa-woman-focus these conventional views. Other than dealing with the dominant stereotype, women entrepreneurs are facing several obstacles related to their businesses.

 The most reveling interesting aspect embark by somidax team during this mission is the zeal for a woman who desired to engage in such an occupation instead as this was along with the intense desire to see her vision carried out, she also have a great ability to multi-task , not fearful of the risks involved in being self-employed. Although she still facing many issues in “keke NAPE Driving”, but being her own boss certainly is more appealing than everyday issues been face outside of entrepreneurship. Gender roles are still very much a part of their lives, but for her, female entrepreneurs is the way to go.
